My name is Claudette Jacobs LLB and GDp Law or cream crackers as I was called at school!
As you can see already in my introduction to myself I have connected the serious with the fun.
Why should everything about dyslexia be about struggling ... what about fun too?
Please all you folks out there, the art world is dominated by creatives who are neurodivergent, from Steven Spielberg to Whoopi Goldberg two bergs but no chips! :)
I love fun that's why I am involved in Dyslexia FeelGood Funday.
'Fun rules'! And through expressing ourselves we can achieve that without the worry of, 'am I doing that right?'
Creativity is about mixing it up being unique and not being ashamed of it.
Without fun, we can't relax and if we can't relax we can't learn.
He who has the most fun wins.
Now for my more serious side which is about justice and action. I would argue Campaigning, influencing and awareness can only open the door slightly. Change comes from action and justice comes from not denigrating other humans. Lifting those up who are are slipping off the ladder ... which DFGF is doing in it's own unquie way.

When I first heard of the Dyslexia FeelGood Funday the first word that came to mind was community. Everything that this represents is about getting people to be part of something that will remind people that they have access to a community, whatever that looks like for them.
The Dyslexia FeelGood Funday (DFGF) is a truly outstanding event dedicated to fostering support and inclusivity for dyslexics and neurodivergents of all age groups. From my perspective the top three enriching aspects attendees can look forward to:
Boosting Confidence and Embracing Fun:
At the heart of the Funday is the uplifting experience of boosting confidence while having an absolute blast! This focus on nurturing self-assurance and honing skills holds special significance for neurodivergent individuals who might confront unique challenges. DFGF offers them a platform to cultivate and proudly showcase their talents in a relaxed and friendly environment, fostering empowerment in the process.
Creating a Deep Sense of Belonging: DFGF is not just a one-off event; it's a vibrant community builder. It provides a warm and inviting space where kindred spirits can come together, forge connections, and build enduring friendships. This profound sense of belonging goes a long way in dispelling feelings of isolation, providing ongoing support well beyond the event's boundaries.
Prioritising Fun and Well-being: The Funday places paramount importance on the delightful intersection of fun and well-being. It's not merely about enjoyment; it's a holistic approach to nurturing mental and physical health. Engaging in these delightful activities sends ripples of positivity through one's mental landscape and overall sense of well-being, resulting in an enriching and transformative experience.
DFGF is, undeniably, an exceptional initiative that guarantees a day filled with personal growth, genuine connections, and unbridled joy. Be sure not to miss out on this extraordinary opportunity for growth, camaraderie, and sheer happiness!

It's remarkable to see an event tailored specifically for dyslexics to embrace fun and creativity in such a profound manner.
